Study of Some Intensive Properties of Some Binary Polar Solvents in Different Temperature

The density (ρ) , Viscosity (η) and refractive index( nD )have been measured for binary polar systems of (protic – protic) solvents mixtures (ethanol-water) and (Aprotic – protic) solvents mixture(dimethyl sulfoxide) and (N – N - (dimethyl formamide) over the complete composition rang at 293 K , 298 K and 303 K at atmospheric pressure .
The experimental data were used to study the nature of intermolecular interaction between the mixing components.
The dependence ρ , η and nD on composition rangewas checked by using an empirical relation .

The Correlation Study between Serum Concentrations of pro- inflammatory cytokines and acute phase markers in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients in AL-Najaf Governorate

Rheumatoid arthritis is a common autoimmune disease of the musculoskeletal
system that is associated with considerable morbidity and diminished quality of life. Serum
samples were obtained from 70 patients with RA who had visited the Division of
Rheumatology at AL-Sadder Teaching Hospital in AL- AL-Najaf City and 25 age- and sex-
matched healthy controls, and the clinical parameters of disease were assessed, including
erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), and rheumatoid factor (RF).
Serum concentrations of IL-6, (TNF-α), (IL)-1α, (IL)-8 and serum level of ferritin were
measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Serum concentrations of
IL-6, (TNF-α), (IL)-1α, and (IL)-8 were significantly elevated (P<0.0001) in patients with
RA compared to those of healthy controls. Serum levels of ferritin were also significantly
elevated (P<0.0001) in patients with RA compared to those of healthy controls. There were a
good significant correlation between these cytokines and acute phase markers. It has been
concluded that the serum concentrations of IL-6, (TNF-α), (IL)-1α, and (IL)-8 were sig-
nificantly elevated in patients with RA and strongly correlated with acute phase markers.
These findings suggest a possible role for these cytokines in the pathogenesis of RA.

Study of the Effect of Thickness and Annealing Process on Optical Properties of SnO2:5%Cu) Thin Films)

Abstract :-

Thin films of SnO2:5%Cu have been prepared on slide glass using chemical spray pyrolysis technique. The optical constants were studied in accordance to the recording of the absorptance and transmittance spectra in range of wave-lengths (350-900) nm . The following optical constants have been calculated: (absorption coefficient , Reflectance, extinction coefficient,refractive index, dielectric constant in its two parts, and optical conductivity) as afunction of photon energy.

Evaluating the effects of Thuja occidentalis extracts in reducing oral ulcer types

Abstract :
The oral ulcers are well-known diseases that effect peoples of different ages in Iraqi society . This study came to find a possible method to treat oral ulcers and to reduce the associated pains . These ulcers can occur in any part of the buccal cavity , and their causes include viruses , bacteria , fungi and other microorganisms . for these reasons , the plant Thuja occidentalis (Cupressaceae Family) was selected as an agent with reduction and growth inhibitor potentials for the causative agents of oral ulcers . The areas of these ulcers ranged from few squared millimeters to 10 squared millimeters or greater .
Accordingly , a search was made for a drug that can reduce the causative agent of these diseases , and the choice was made for Thuja occidentalis because of the plant richness in flavonoids , glycosides , organic acids and some vegetable dyes .
The plant was aqueously extracted (cold and hot extraction) , as well as using 70% ethanol . The results demonstrated that aqueous (cold and hot) and methanol extracts at a concentration of 2.0% were significantly effective (P<= 0.001) in reducing pains and recovering the oral ulcered areas of most of the investigated human groups , and the recovering percentage reached 80 , 79 , and 71 %, respectively of oral ulcers (10.1 ± 3.6 mm² ) withen 48 ± 6 hours .

In this study , mono & bicyclic compounds [1-8] were synthesized by alkalytion of 2-aminothiozoline with carbonyl compounds (succinic acid ., chloro acetic acid .,2,5-hexan-dione ., 3-chloro propoyl chloride ), where as the compounds [9-12] were synthesized by condensation between diketone compounds with (2-amino benzothiazole ,guanine) . The synthesized compounds structures were characarterized by several methods :{(C.H.N)-analysis , FT.IR-spectra , H.NMR-spectra } & melting points .

In this paper we prepared a number of polymer blends between organophosphous resins contain silicon (p-si-resins) namely polytris((dimethyl ethoxy silyl)phosphate and polytris(dimethyl phenyloxy silyl)phosphate separately and epoxy resin by weight percentages (5-25)%. Some mechanical properties such as impact strength and hardness of the prepared polymer blend were studied, it was observed that the impact strength increases with increasing the proportion of p-si-resins. The hardness has been decreased in values when compared with the epoxy resin alone. This is due to the flexibility provided by the p-si-resins. Thermal stability of the prepared polymer blends were studied by thermo gravimetric analysis technique TGA with measuring some functions such as decomposition temperature, activation energy, rate of decomposition and char content. The results showed that thermal stability of the polymer blends increase with increasing the proportion of p-si-resins. In addition the flame resistance of prepared polymer blends according to standard specifications (ASTM D 568)was evaluated. The results showed an improvement in flame resistance and that by observing the decrease in the rate of burning and weight loss with the increase in the proportion of p-si- resins.

Investigation of FimH adhesin among Enterobacter spp. isolates and their role in biofilm formation

One hundred five urine samples were collected from patients with cystitis and subjected to uriscan Cybow10 dipstick to investigate presence of leukocyte in urine (pyuria) using leukocyte esterase test (LET) and using of nitrite test (NT) to detect bacteriuria. Only samples who gave positive result for both leukocyte esterase test and nitrite test would be then subjected to culture. Twenty four Enterobacter isolates were recoverd from urine samples (9 isolates were E. cloacae (EC) and 15 isolates were E. aerogenes (EA). All DNA samples extracted from bacterial isolates were conducted for PCR to investigate presence of fimH gene among isolates. The result revealed that 18/24(75%) of isolates were positive to fimH gene (6 isolates among E. cloacae and 12 isolates among E. aerogenes).Phenotypic detection of biofilm formation was performed using Tissue culture plate (TCP) assay and the results demonstrate that, 17/24(70.8%) were biofilm former among which 7(29.2%) biofilm former belong to E. cloacae and 10(41.6%) belong to E. aerogenes. The results display significant positive correlation between biofilm formation and FimH adhesin expression in which fimH gene was present in 16/17(94.1%) of biofilm former isolates. Our results conclude the importance of FimH adhesin in establishment of biofilm and magnitude of biofilm formation in cystitis via antibiotics resistance and ascending infections.

An experiment was carried out during the agricultural season of 2010-2011 in college of Science /AL-Qadisiya University, study the effect of growth regulators Nephthalin acetic acid and Salicylic acid and humic acid on growth and production of the active ingredient of Black seed (Nigella sativa L.) . The vegetative parameters measured were included ; plant height , stem diameter , number of branches , leaves number, dry weigh of shoot and roots , Also active substances content nigelon and thymoqunon in seeds . Results were as follow using on Nephthalin acetic acid and Salicylic and Humic acid treatments caused an increase in all vegetative parameters that studied , and the active substances concentration nigelon increase in 20 mg/L SA with 2.5 ml/L Humic acid and concentration thymomiquenon increase with 750 mg/L NAA with 2.5 ml/L Humic acid.

Effect of aqueous extract of Glycerrhiza glabra in biochemical and immunological parameters in white Male rats treated with Cyclophosphamide

This study was conducted to determine the role of extract of Glycerrhiza glabra to reduce the negative side effects of cyclophosphamide in some biochemical and immunological parameters. To study the effect of extract after treatment, fifteen of White male rats divided into three equal groups first group was injected with distilled water , the second group was injected IP with cyclophosphamide with single dose (50 mg / kg) for 14 days weather the third group was also given the cyclophosphamide with single dose (50 mg / kg) for 14 days then treated animals were given extract at dose (400 mg / kg) for 14 days. Samples of blood were collected for calculate WBCs and phagocytosis , and serum isolated for measurment of the the enzymes GPT, GOT, ALP, glucose, urea and creatinine , the results showed a significant increase p<0.05 in enzymes GPT, GOT, ALP, and creatinine while the results appear decrease in the WBCs ,phagocytic index, glucose and urea level in treated group with drug compared with the control group While the group treated with extract after drug caused significant decrease p<0.05 in enzymes GPT, GOT, ALP, and creatinine .and caused significantly increase in the WBCs ,phagocytic index,glucose and urea level . so that give us conculsion the ability of aqueous extract of Glycerrhiza glabra to reduce the effects of drug cyclophsphamide .

Effect of flow rate, angle and height of spray of tractor-mounted boom sprayer on weeds control at wheat fields.

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of flow rate, angle and height of spray of tractor-mounted boom sprayer on weeds control at wheat fields.
Three treatments including two flow rate of flat fan nozzle tip (1.58 81.80) l/min, three spray angel for each flow rate including (65°, 80°, 110°) and three spraying Heights including (35, 50, 65)cm were studied in this experiment.
This experimental was applied at one of wheat field located in Khan-Beni Saad in Diala Government . Selective herbicide Shevalier were used in this study the following parameters were studied volume median Diameter (VMD), Converge, effective field capacity for sprayer, the damage percentage that resulted from drifting, the percentage of weed control after 6 weeks from spraying, the percentage of inhibition growth of weed and the total productivity of wheat, split-split plot design under randomized complete block design (R.C.B.B) with three replications. Main plots were specified for spray height while the subplot was the spray angle and the flow rates were the sub-sub plot.
Results can be summarized as follows:
1. The increasing in flow rate of herbicide in nozzle tip (1.58-1.8 liter/min) give in produce increasing in volume median diameter and coverage that lead to increase efficient of weed control and inhibition weed growth (4.200-4.287) tin/hector. In addition to decrease harm effect that come from drifting with rate (3.33-4.00) harm degree.
2. The increasing in angle & height of spray (65, 80, 110), (35, 50, 65)cm. produce increase coverage and harm effect as a result of drafting, and also produce increase percentage of control and inhibition of weeds growth and increase crop yields with rate (4.058, 4.233, 4.440) tin/hector for spray angles, with rate (4.133, 4.225, 4.371) tin/hector for spray heights.
3. The interaction of flow rate and spray angle produce increase the coverage that increase percentage of inhibition weed growth, where the maximum rates of them (60.8)drop/cm2 , (97.53%) consequently.
4. The interaction between flow rate factor and height spray factor have no a signification effect on the studied characteristic.
5. The interaction of spray angle and height spray produce increase the coverage that increase percentage of weed control and inhibition of weed growth that increase crop yields that reach maximum level (4.525) tin/hector.

Kinetics of oxidation of alanine was carried out by using Ag (I) as a catalyst. The reaction is first order each with respect to both the reactants, cerium (IV) and alanine . The reaction rate increase linearly with Ag (I) . the added neutral salts produced retarding effect on the reaction rate while the acid has an accelerating effect , a suitable reaction mechanism has been suggested.

To discover and improve this application we need to compare this with another one on same parameters space on same application on some examples .To success this trail we need properties of Gaussian MF(as fuzzy logic) with Gamma Distribution as probability view on practical side ,that what simplify all the values of parameters a , β on Gamma distribution and parameters of MF, with values of X. So we applied some experiments to explore this relationship and the comparison, through suppose constant values for parameters with different values for variable and another experiments suppose constant values for variable with different values for parameters. In each experiment we calculate variance through tables and figures. We need to find this relationship and a comparison. That will be explored through numerical values for both these functions .

In this study, five types of bacterial cells was exposed to radiation from Am-241. There was a difference between these cells in growth reduction after exposed to radiation . The comparison between the control group and the test group show a significant difference for Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, but there was no significant difference between them for the other types like Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp. and Streptococcus spp.
The inhibition in growth of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus is related to the type of radiation used, the time of exposing and type of bacteria used.

The role of the Periplaneta americana (L.) in the transmission of parasitic pathogens in the hospitals and health centers of Al-Diwaniya City.

Tow hundred and fifty samples of adult American cockroach (Periplaneta americana) were collected from hospital and health centers in the Al-Diwaniya City during period between October 2010 and May 2011 in order to isolate and diagnose pathogenic parasites from American cockroach, 238 of 250 sample was infected with one or more species of Protozoa or worms (95.2%).
The study also appeared that the infection percentage with Protozoa
were 83.2% while the infection percentage with worms were 73.2%. Six species parasites were Isolated from American cockroach which included tow species of protozoa, Balantidium sp. and Nyctotherus ovalis (83.2% and 1.2% respectively), and four species of worms were Thelastoma bulhoesi, Blattellicola blattae first recorded in Iraq, Gordius robustus, Hammerschmiditiella diesingi (48.8%, 32%, 17.2% and 7.2% respectively).
As well as the results of statistical analysis indicated that there was no significant differences in the percentage of parasitic infections in hospitals and health centers studied in Al-Diwaniya City, the highest infection rate was recorded in Afak hospital (100%), while the lowest recorded was in clinic of Alaskary quarter (83.3%).
The results also showed that secondary infection is the most common in hospital and health centers (42%), while fourth infection showed lowest recorded with (3.2%).
As well as the results showed the important role of American cockroach in transmission some parasitic pathogen shared between human and animal was Balantidium sp.

Aseries of new substituted phenyl azo isoxazoline-5-one (d-f) and substituted phenyl azo pyrozoline-5-one (g-i) have been synthesized from the substituted phenyl azo pentan 2,4-dion (a-c).The Structure of all new compounds (a-i) were fullyidentifed by elemental analysis and FT.IR spectra but som of new compounds were chaarecterized by HNMR spectra,for the new compounds biological activity.

Synthesis of the new 2-[6-Nitro-2-benzothiazolylazo]-4-bromo phenol organic reagent for spectrophotometric determination of Zinc(II).

A new 2-[6-Nitro-2-benzothiazolylazo]-4-bromo phenol (NO2BTABrP) organic reagent was synthesized. A sensitive and selective spectrophotometric method was proposed for the rapid determination of Zn(II) using (NO2BTABrP) reagent .The reaction between Zn(II) and (NO2BTABrP) reagent is instantaneous at pH=6.0 and the absorbance remains stable for over 24 hrs.
The Method allows for the determination of Zn(II) over the range (0.3-4.0) µg.ml-1 ,with molar absorptivity of (6.221 x 10+3)l.mol 1.cm-1 and a detection limit of 0.147 µg.ml-1.Recovery and relative error values of precision and accuracy of method were found to be R.S.D=1.6% , Re=98.84% , and Erel =-1.16% . The properties of complex was studied and show;(M:R) ratio was 1:2 at pH=6.0 ,and the stability constant of 8.23 x 10+9 l2.mol-2 . The interferences of ions (Cu2+ , CrO2- , Ca2+ , pb2+ , Co2+ , Mg2+ , Cd2+, Ba2+ , Bi3+) and masking agents effect on absorbance were studied .

Extraction methods for Cu+2 and Ag+ shows optimum pH for extraction was (pHex=7), for Cu+2 and (pHex=8) for Ag+ , as well as extraction procedure need shaking time (20minutes) for Cu+2 and (15minutes) for Ag+, in addition shows optimum concentration giving higher distribution ratio (D) was (80µg) Cu+2 (2.52×10-4 M) and (60µg) Ag+(1.1×10-4 M), organic solvents effect on distribution ratio (D) for extraction shows there is not any linear relation between dielectric constant (ε) for organic solvents used and distribution ratio (D), but there is effect for organic solvent structure for both ion. Stoichiometry shows coordination complex extracted was (1:2) (Metal:Organic reagent) for Cu+2, [Cu2+(BTABP-)2], but for Ag+ was (1:1) (Metal:Organic reagent) [Ag+(BTABP-)], thermodynamic study shows the complexation reaction between metal ion and organic reagent was endothermic for Cu+2 and Ag+ , as well as synergistic effect study. From other hand used this method and organic reagent BTABP for spectrophotometric determination of Cu+2 and Ag+ in sediments of different locations of Euphrates river in Al-Najaf governorate.

The current study included the histochemical study of cestoda Bothriocephalus acheilognathi in order to clarifying the place of the carbohydrates in different tissues and organs of this cestoda , this can be done by the use of periodic acid shiffs (PAS) , Tuluedene blue , alcian blue at PH 1.0 , 2.5 techneque . It was noticed that the result of very positive reactions in functional active organs for longitudinal muscles, epidermis surface, mesenchyme tissue and vittelaria glands. However male and female reproductive organs.
This study concludes that the contrast in the present of carbohydrate substances in various tissues for parasite and then indication on the physiological and metabolical activity and response to the extrernal effects in the environment which at to stay in host's tissues

Association between Interleukin-6 and Anemia of chronic Disease (ACD) in Patients with Systemic lupus Erythematosus

This study was performed to determine the concentra¬tions of serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) and its correlation with iron status: serum iron, serum transferrin and serum ferritin in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We obtained serum samples from 50 patients with SLE who had visited Al-Diwanyia Teaching Hospital and 20 age- and sex-matched healthy controls, and we assessed the clinical parameters of disease, including seropositivity test for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). Serum levels of iron and total iron binding capacity (TIBC) were measured spectrophotometrically, and transferrin concentration were calculated mathematically. Serum concentrations of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and ferritin were measured using an enzyme-linked im-munosorbent assay (ELISA).
Serum concentration of interleukin-6 (IL-6) was significantly elevated (P> 0.0001) in patients with SLE compared to those of healthy controls.
Serum concentrations of iron, total iron binding capacity (TIBC), and transferrin concentration were significantly decreased in patients with SLE compared to those of healthy controls. While serum level of ferritin was significantly elevated (P> 0.0001) in patients with SLE compared to those of healthy controls.
We concluded that the serum concentrations of iron and transferrin were sig-nificantly decreased in SLE patients. Most importantly, these changes correlated with the inflammatory state of the patients (significant elevation of IL-6, ferritin and ESR) and anemia of chronic disease. Taken together, altered iron handling, inflammation and anemia of chronic disease constitute an ominous triad in SLE.

Using microbial indicator to assessment the pollution that resulting from the discharge of domestic wastewater to Al-Diwaniya river / Iraq

The discharge of untreated or incomplete treated domestic wastewater to receiving water is result to addition of many pollutants particularly pathogenic microorganisms, which has causing various diseases to aquatic organisms and humans are using this water, so that this study is executed to evaluate the microbial pollution resulting from the discharge of domestic wastewater to Al-Diwaniya river by measuring the total bacterial count (TBC) and most probable number of coliforms (TC), fecal coliforms (FC) and fecal streptococcus (FS).
The samples are collected monthly for one year from four stations on the river, first located at the north of wastewater discharge point and it's used as controlled station, and three stations located at the south of discharge point.
The results are showed elevation in number of all bacterial types in station two, three and four comparison with the station one, and the numbers range are between (17.33×102 - 310×104) cell/ml , (4.2 - 403.3×102) , (3 - 273.3×102) , (29 - 1100×102) cell/100ml for TBC, TC, FC and FS respectively.
The study results showed that the numbers of pollution indicating bacteria are outside the permissible limits of World Health Organization (WHO) for waters which are using for drinking, moreover it's exceeded permissible limits for swimming and recreational waters.

This research including preparation new derivatives for heterocyclic compounds are (1,3 benzothiazole), (1,3oxazpine) ,and(imidazolidin-4-one). The process synthesis in us research divided into two major pathways.: First , synthesis 2- amino benzothiazole derivatives [ 6-acetyle -2-amino benzothiazole (A1)and [6,'6]biphenyl thiazolyle [2,2']di amine (B1) ] from p-amino acetophenone and benzidine respectively .Second pathway , with some aldehydes subsisted ,amin group of benzothiazole reacted to form Schiff's base compounds that enter reaction with phathlic anhydride to produced ( 1,3 Oxazpine) derivatives (As3,As4,B3), and with (valine) amino acid to form imidazolidin-4-one heterocyclic (As5).The reactions followed up by using Thin Layer Chromatographic method (TLC) to perform the reaction ,as well as, characterizing new derivatives by using FT-IR and (C.H.N.S) measurements for these compounds.

An association and genetic polymorphisms of CYP2D6 gene in chronic renal failure patients in AL- Qadisiya province / Iraq.

The gene CYP2D6 is one of the most important genes of phase I drug metabolizing enzymes.
Individuals differ in response to drugs caused by mutation in CYP2D6 gene. The patients with
chronic renal failure disease (CRF) are often treated with more than one drug. This study was
designed to investigate the distribution of CYP2D6 polymorphism in patients with CRF and also to
evaluate the role of this polymorphism gene as a genetic risk modifier in the etiology of CRF
The study was carried out on (60) patients with CRF and (60) healthy volunteers . The
CYP2D6 genotypes were analyzed by (PCR- RFLP) method.
The results indicated that the levels of creatin and urea were significantly higher (P < 0.05) in
CRF patients compared to control. While the mean Hb concentration, PCV level were significantly
lower(P < 0.05) in CRF patients compared with healthy subjects. There was no significant
association between CRF risk and CYP2D6 (HEM) genotype. The nonfunctional CYP2D6 (PM)
genotype had a (1.89) fold increase of risk toward CRF disease the (95 % CI= 0.18-12.32). This
study showed the protective CYP2D6 (EM) in CRF severity.
The statistical analysis showed no significant association between the age and CYP2D6 (HEM,
The risk for developing CRF disease increased in case of heavy smokers of (1.6) fold as
compared to light smokers (OR= 1.2).
