Investigation of the Association between Serum Concentrations of Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α) and Hematological Parameters in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients in AL-Najaf Governorate

This study was performed to determine whether the serum concentra¬tions of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) are elevated in patients with rheuma¬toid arthritis (RA) and to investigate the relationship between TNF-α levels and hematological parameters in RA patients. Serum samples were obtained from 70 patients with RA who had visited the Division of Rheumatology at AL-sadder Teaching Hospital in AL-najaf City and 25 age- and sex-matched healthy controls, and the clinical parameters of disease were assessed, including erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), and rheumatoid factor (RF). Blood pictures were performed using automated hematology analyzer Mythic™. Serum concentrations of TNF-α were measured using an enzyme-linked im¬munosorbent assay (ELISA).
Serum concentrations of TNF-α, was significantly elevated in patients with RA compared to those of healthy controls. Although there was no significant rela¬tionship between TNF-α levels and RBC, Hb, HCT and red cell indices, the TNF-α levels of pa-tients with RA showed a significant correlation with total leukocyte count (TLC), differential leukocytes and platelets.
It has been concluded that the serum concentrations of TNF-α was sig¬nificantly elevated in patients with RA and strongly correlated with hematological alterations. These findings suggest a possible role for TNF-α in the pathogenesis of RA.

A study of Adsorption of Lead (II) and Chromium (III) ions from Aqueous Solution on local Chaff

In the present study, Chaff was used as an adsorbent for removing Pb(II) and Cr(III) ions from aqueous solutions. The amounts of adsorbed ions were estimated were carried out by using flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The effects of initial metal ions concentration, pH, existing salt and temperature were studies.
The adsorption isotherms are of L-curve type according to Giles classification and the experimental data were best fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models.
The adsorption phenomenon was examined as a function of temperature (25, 40 and 55oC) and various thermodynamic parameters (Ho, So and Go) have been calculated. The thermodynamic parameters of metal ion-chaff systems indicated the adsorption processes is a non-spontaneous.
The results indicated that the adsorption extent of metal ions onto chaff increased with increasing the pH of solution and it was decreased with increasing ionic strength of solution.

New metal chelate complexes of azoligand derived from 4,5-diphenylimidazole

Coupling reaction of (3,5-Dichlorophenyldiazonium chloride) with 4,5-dipheny-limidazole in alkaline alcoholic medium yielded a new azoligand 2-[(3,5-Dichloro phenyl)azo]- 4,5-diphenylimidazole (dcpai). The structure and nature of this organic ligand and its metal complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) were established on the basis of available technique such as elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility, IR and electronic spectral data. The spectral and analytical data revealed that this ligand coordinated through the nitrogen atom of azomethine group of heterocyclic imidazole ring and the other nitrogen atom of azo group which is the farthest of imidazole molecule. The geometry of the prepared metal complexes are discussed based on analytical and spectral data.

In this paper , at the beginning we attempted to introduce some preliminary concepts for bisequences . After that we explained The collection of primary variants Tp Where each element tp in Tp ( pZ ) is called primary variant , also (by definition of the set of all bisequences on finite set) , we obtained the set of all bisequences primary variant and collection of all bisequences of primary variants  and some subset of  such as  O ,  e ,  + and  ─ , we consider A the collection of all abelian variants groups and Pk symmetric variants group also we introduce the homomorphism f : Hom χ ( B , G )  Hom χ ( A , G ) , we introduce some of theorems and study some of their basic properties and at last we show that  is a topological space .

prediction of Solar Radiation Using Artificial Intelligence technique for Najaf City

In present paper, the artificial Intelligence (AI) have been investigated in order to estimation of monthly mean solar radiation in Najaf city. The suggested model were trained and tested using four years data (1995 - 1998) of monthly mean solar radiation, sun shine duration, Extraterritorial radiation and monthly mean ambient temperature for present month as an input and the output will be the estimate solar radiation , then tasted with monthly data of the trained years. The architecture of AI which represented by the artificial neural network (ANN) model was the model was the multi layer precipitation architecture and has three layers. An ANN was constructed, trained, and tested for a different numbers of neurons in its hidden layer. The best result was obtained with 4 neurons, where Determination Coefficient (R2), Root Mean square Error (RMSE) ,Mean Percentage Error (MPE) were found to be 0.98 , 1.1 MJ/m2 , 2 % for testing values. The results show that the Artificial Intelligence is powerful an alternate technique in Monthly mean solar radiation estimation.

In this paper , we have dealt with the concept of fuzzy strongly connected set in fuzzy topological spaces .Throughout its definition ,we have defined the fuzzy regular strongly connected set and found that the every fuzzy strongly connected set is a fuzzy regular strongly connected set . We have also defined the concept of fuzzy regular locally connected by means of which we have defined fuzzy regular strongly locally connected where we have proved that every fuzzy regular strongly locally connected space is fuzzy regular locally connected .

Electromagnetic Scattering for Dielectrically Coated Conducting Bodies of Translation by using Physics Optics method PO.

In this research we study the problem of electromagnetic scattering of conducting bodies of translation (BoT) coated with dielectric material using the theory of physical optics as a numerical method. Using mathematical equations and programming language (Fortran Power Station 90) were calculated surface electric and magnetic currents and the scattered fields from such bodies. By using surfer program the body under study was draw , and then calculate its radar cross section (RCS).It will be noticed that increasing the coating layer lead to reduces the radar cross section.

The Effect of Exercise on Total blood count, Phagocytic Activity and Immunoglobulin's levels

Present work included the study of cellular and humoral immune response in athletes before and after running on treadmill. Results of cellular immune response related with differential white blood cell count indicated an increasing in mean number of neutrophils after exercise in comparison with their number before exercise but it is not significant, whearas the eosinophils and basophils did not show any significant differences in their numbers between the two intervals of study (before and after exercise). Also there is a significant elevation in numbers of monocytes after an exercise in comparison with athletes before an exercise and control group.
The study also indicated that there is non significant increasing in lymphocytes after an exercise when compared with their number before an exercise. Moreover results of total white blood cell count indicated that there is an increasing in their numbers in athletes after an exercise.
Other indicator of cellular immune response is the presence of an elevation in phagocytic activity of PMNs after an exercise in comparison with their activity before an exercise.
In relation with results of humoral immune response, present results demonstrated the significant increasing in IgM and IgA in athletes after an exercise while IgG donot revealed any significant differences in their level among the studied groups.

A new azo-azomethen ligand and its Cu(II) chelate complex were prepared after fixing the optimum condition which was intransitive to forming the complex with Cu(II) ion, such as the optimum pH and the best concentration of the ligand and metal ion. The mole ratio ( M : L ) also studied which was found ( 1 : 2 ), after that studied the biological activity for ligand and it's complex with copper ion(II(.This ligand and its chelate complex were characterized by some analytical and spectral available technique, such as (C.H.N) analyses, the percentage of metal ion in its complex, ( UV-Vis ) and (I.R) spectra, in addition of molar conductance measurement.

Effect of AL-Diwaniya Textile Factory Effluents on some of Chemical and Physical Properties of River Water in AL-Diwaniya

The present study included some physical and chemical characters in AL-Diwaniya river to show the effect of liquid industrial discharges from Textile Factory on it , the samples of water was collected at three stations from November 2010 to August 2011 .The first station was lied on the river before the Textile factory about 2 km and the second station was represented the river water that mixed with industrial discharges , while the third station was remoted from second station about 2 km. The characteristics was determined including: temperature , pH , electrical conductivity , salinity , turbidity , alkalinity , total hardness , Ca and Mg ions , dissolved oxygen and BOD5 , TDS and TSS , CL and sulphate , nutrients ( natrate , nitrite ,and phosphate ).
The results show that the values of temperature air and water , pH , electrical conductivity , salinity was (16-43.2C ; 13-32.8C ; 7.03-8.7 ; 1022-1531µS/cm ; 0.65-0.98% ) respectively and the concentration of turbidity, TDS and TSS was (7.6-47.2NTU ; 391-976mg/L ;34.2-72.91 mg/L) respectively. While the concentration of dissolved oxygen and BOD5 , alkalinity , total hardness ,Ca and Mg ions ,CL and sulphate was (3.7-7.4 ; 1.2-4.2 ; 133.8-306.8 ; 362.4-605.8 ; 92.52-166.8 ; 18.73-55.45 ; 119.6-172.8 ; 187.9-394.8 ) mg/L respectively and the concentration of nutrient was (205.7-856 ; 4-26.4 ; 0.16-48.3 )µg/L for nitrate , nitrite , phosphate respectively.

The Effect of Egg Shell on Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Flame Retardant Properties.

In this present paper, experimental results on fire retardant efficacy of low-density polyethylene added with various contents ratio of egg shell were reported. The ratio of doping were (5%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%) wt%. The particle size of egg shell used in this research were equal or less than (125µm). Several parameters were studied like average of burning time, burning rate and percentage of burning rate. The obtained results showed that egg shell was a suitable additive to low density polyethylene and the increase of doping ratio leads to decrease in average of burning time at doping ratios above 25% which is a critical ratio. For small doping ratio the opposite is obtained hence there is an increase in time of burning. A similar results were obtained when calculating burning rate with some kind of exception at 10% doping ratio since the reduction was obvious. Also the percentage of burning time has two values positive for doping ratio equal or less than (25%). while negative value was found at doing ratio (25%) relatively to it’s pure value where negative sign explaining the mode of burning resistance of low density polyethylene.

A Study Effect of Some Organic Solvent Aromatic Materials on Male Rats Fertility.

This study was applied to investigate the toxicity effect of two organic solvent aromatic materials toluene (0.5 , 1.0 , 1.5 ml/ kg) and xylene (0.5 , 1.5 ml/ kg) through intarperitone injection for 30 day.
The results showed the following:
A significant decrease (P < 0.05) in body weight and body weight gain at the end of the experiment to all groups treated with toluene and xylene compared to control groups.
A significant decrease (P < 0.05) in genital weight organs including (testes , epidymis , prostate and seminal vesicle) in the groups treated with higher concentration (toluene , xylene) compared to control.
A significant decrease (P < 0.05) in sperm parameters (sperms concentration , movement , the percentage of sperms viability and normality) compared to control .
The statistical analysis showed a significant decrease (P < 0.05) in levels of gonadotropin hormones (FSH , LH) and level testosterone hormone in the groups injected with toluene , xylene compared to the levels of those hormones in control.
It is concluded that there is a negative role and toxicity of organic solvent aromatic (toluene and xylene) on male rats fertility.
